Tools4Teachers is a secure Alberta Education website developed by the Distributed Learning Branch, for use by Alberta Educators.

The website consists of authorized distance learning resources and digital learning objects that Alberta Educators can use to assist them in the development of their own print and digital lessons. These resources and learning objects are based on the print resources produced by the Distributed Learning Branch.

NOTE: Tools4Teacher Integration with LearnAlberta.ca

Alberta Education has integrated the Tools4Teachers website with the LearnAlberta.ca website. This will provide teachers with a single access point to a wide variety of Tools4Teachers and LearnAlberta.ca resources. With the integration of Tools4Teachers materials into the LearnAlberta.ca website, student and teacher materials currently posted on Tool4Teachers will now be made available directly to students and teachers through the new tab labeled “T4T Courses.”. While teachers will continue to have full access to the Tools4Teachers materials, students will have access only to student materials and will be restricted from accessing secure materials such as final tests, answer keys and other restricted materials.

Tools4Teachers materials will be available on LearnAlberta.ca as of November 20, 2009. To ensure a smooth transition of Tools4Teachers materials to the LearnAlberta.ca website, the existing Tools4Teachers website (tools4teachers.ab.ca) will remain available until June 30, 2010. However, no new content will be posted on it after November 30, 2009. All new Tools4Teachers content will be posted only on LearnAlberta.ca after November 30, 2009.

The Tools4Teachers passwords you received in August 2009 are still in effect and may be used on LearnAlberta.ca website to access the Tools4Teachers materials.

As of June 30, 2010, that current password will be deactivated. After January 15, 2010, teachers requesting passwords for the Tools4Teachers website will be asked to create new accounts on the LearnAlberta.ca website and provided with one individual password that will allow them access to both LearnAlberta.ca and the Tools4Teachers materials.
